What will happen if the world economy collapses?

I just spent about 3 1/2 hours researching and reading about recent uprising on Wall street.  I’ve been watching some of the videos at occupywallst.org and tears have flooded my eyes when see these people fighting for their lives. I think about the millions of people that have suffered and spent their entire lives slaving away to survive while there are a handful of people that are living like Kings in this country. I want to be there. I want to support because for many years I too have been angry about the abuse of power and lack of power of the people.

I’ve done some research and I think its important that people understand the magnitude of what we are in the midst of. Questions were pouring out of my head: What if we have another Great Depression? What will the world be like if the economy collapses? How can we win such a fight against a power so great?

Here are some ideas and answers.

• This web site states some possible situations that may occur and tips to prepare yourself. I found this to be very specific and informative. 
• This site talks about the difference between a Recession and a Depression. 
• Here is an article NPR did on people who survived the Great Depression. It’s important to understand our history so we may learn from previous mistakes.

Lastly, I think its important to remember not to freak out about all this. But to be prepared and aware. This Wednesday (Oct 5), I was planning to play at Union Square, but will instead bring my piano down to Liberty Park or City Hall park.
